Hot phots of PAMELA

Por: System Administrator  En: Jue 04 de Sep, 2008 09:01 -05  (1083 Lecturas)
PAMELA(external link) is a satellite experiment who measures the cosmic flux of anti-particles. There are rumours(external link) that PAMELA has discovered dark matter. Last month, the PAMELA team gave a few selected physicists a sneak preview of their results at a conference in Stockholm. Slides from there were used in this articles(external link), citing this one(external link) that stablishes: "the data points shown in our figure have been graphically extracted from a photo of a slide shown by M. Boezio at the IDM08 conference, Stochkolm, 20/08/2008"

Spires to Inspire

Por: System Administrator  En: Mié 28 de Mayo, 2008 07:27 -05  (835 Lecturas)
New: INSPIRE(external link) (alpha)

Based on these results(external link), the managements of the labs seized the opportunity to build INSPIRE(external link), a community-based and user-driven next-generation information system, fully exploiting a new technological environment. INSPIRE is being built by combining the successful SPIRES(external link) database, curated at DESY, Fermilab and SLAC, with the Invenio(external link) digital library technology developed at CERN. INSPIRE will offer the functionalities and quality of service which the HEP user community has grown to expect from SPIRES, an indispensable tool in their daily research workflow. It will develop long-sought features, providing access to the entire corpus of the HEP literature with full-text Google-like search capabilities and enabling innovative text- and data-mining applications.
