The Institute of Physics of the Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA) in Medellín-Colombia has opened positions for two (2) tenure track in Physics and Astronomy.

The candidates must fulfill the following conditions:

Position 1 (profile 2): Professional in physics with PhD title and teaching and/or postdoctoral experience in areas such as Astronomy and Astrophysics, Optics, Atomic Physics, Biophysics (Biological physics or Medicine), Nuclear Physics, Solid State Physics/Condensed Matter Physics, Statistical Physics, Fields and Particles Physics.

Profile 2 (profile 3): Professional in physics with PhD in Physics or Astronomy and recognized research experience (papers in refereed journals, formulation and participation in research projects, etc.) in Astronomy, Theoretical Astrophysics, Planetary Sciences, Astronomical instrumentation or Cosmology, preferably with experience in acquisition and analysis of Astronomical data and/or experience in the use of astronomical databases.

As a special condition all the candidates whose mother tongue is not Spanish, must demonstrate proficiency in Spanish Language at the level of the 'Diploma de Español Nivel C2 (Superior) del Instituto Cervantes.' (http://diplomas.cervantes.es/general/descripcion.jsp)
